Hey Everyone,
Well, 2013 has been an epic year for me. I've managed to publish The Elements Trilogy, Before and Beyond - the two Betwixt Series novellas, two Indie Inked samplers and put together three omnibus books. I've also written the 1st draft of two books I'm publishing next year - True Colors and I Know Lucy. I've been invited to be a panelist at UtopYA Con next year and I've signed a publishing contract with Evatopia Press.
I'm really proud of what I've achieved and I can't wait for 2014. I have another 6 books planned and I can't WAIT to share them with you!
My brain is now ready for a little break. My family and I are going away for a week to a sunny resort in Thailand then returning for a snuggly two weeks in the Suzhou cold. It'll be my boys first winter Christmas so it'll be a good experience for them.
I'm planning on getting a bunch of reading done. My kindle is packed with goodies that I'm super excited about getting into.
What's on your reading list?
If you want to add a few more - here are some of my favorite reads from 2013 (in no particular order).
Anna Cruise:
Maverick - If I Fall - It Was You - It Was Me - It Was Us - Down by the Water
Ella James: Selling Scarlett - Taming Cross
Taylor Longford:
Defiance - Chaos - (I read the 1st three in this series last year. I have LOVED them all so far!)
JA Huss: Losing Francesca
Alexia Purdy: Ever Wrath
Cambria Hebert: Text
Shelly Crane: Wide Awake - Wide Spaces
Komal Kant: Impossible
Ruben Gretchen: The Happiness Project
Simone Elkeles: Wild Cards

NEW RELEASE and GIVEAWAY - Losing Francesca by J. A. Huss
I am so excited to see that Losing Francesca is now available. I purchased a copy straight away and e-mailed the author to ask if she'd be willing to visit YAlicious with a guest post about the book. She very kindly obliged :)
Welcome to YAlicious, Julie. It's awesome to have you.
Welcome to YAlicious, Julie. It's awesome to have you.
Soul Mates
Losing
Francesca is not a story I typically write. I’m a science fiction writer first,
a smexy new adult romance writer second, and although I do read young adult
books, they are almost always paranormal or science fiction.
So why
write this story? Well, it’s a
contemporary romance with a twist and I like twists. It’s a mystery actually – you see, no one
knows what happened to Fiona Sullivan twelve years ago when she and her mother
went missing in Italy on vacation, but there’s a whole community of people
dying to figure this out.
And one
of those people who desperately needs to know if Francesca Sabatini is the same
little girl who was stolen from his life when he was just seven years old is
Brody Mason.
Brody
admits he’s been obsessed with Fiona since her disappearance and the day he was
told she was never coming back was the last day he really lived his life,
because he spent the next several years desperate with longing to see her
again.
Why is
Brody so interested in the missing Fiona Sullivan?
Fiona
Sullivan was his soul mate. He loved
this girl as a child, he loved this girl as they rode the bus together in their
early school years, and he’s got it in his head that Francesca is Fiona. They
are the same girl. He feels this to be
true even though he has no proof and she denies over and over again that she is
not Fiona Sullivan.
It
doesn’t matter to Brody, because a soul mate knows. He just knows. That’s the major theme running through Losing
Francesca. Normally I like to make
statements with my books, at least make people think a little about some issue
or another – see it in a different way.
But this book is just about love.
The kind of love that not only comes once in a lifetime, but once in
eternity. Soul mates are forever. There
is no limit to that love.
So why is
Brody so tortured?
Imagine
you and your soul mate were born living next door to each other. How wonderful to spend your entire life
within a few minutes walking distance to your one true love.
Now
imagine that your soul mate was taken away.
How empty and desperate would your life become?
Brody
Mason fully understands both of those feelings because that’s what happened to
him.
Losing
Francesca is about a family that was broken apart, a boy who was torn to
pieces, and a girl who needs to put herself back together again. It’s a sweet
mysterious romance that will take your mind off life, maybe make you cry a bit,
and leave you hopeful at the end.
Losing Francesca By J. A. Huss
Published: July 1, 2013
Genre: Mature Young Adult Contemporary
Romance
WARNING: This book contains no smut. It’s
not smexy or hot. It’s sweet and filled with a longing so deep, your heart will
ache and maybe even break. This book is about bare feet on the beach, the sound
of crashing waves, first kisses, losing your faith and then, against all odds,
finding it again. This book is about bad things that change people’s lives, a
father’s love for his daughter, a brother’s love for his sister, a bad boy who
finally figures out why he’s so broken, and a girl who grows up.
Francesca Sabatini came to America to take
in the sights, celebrate her high school graduation, and have fun wasting time
before college starts in the fall.
That’s not what happens.
Fresh off the plane and barely on American
soil more than a handful of minutes, Francesca’s face is recognized by TSA
scanners to be a match for a child who was kidnapped twelve years ago.
Brody Mason remembers the day Fiona
Sullivan went missing during a family vacation in Italy and it’s haunted him
his whole life. So when Francesca shows up at the Sullivan farm down the road,
he’s compelled to figure out if this girl really is his long lost friend.
But Francesca knows she’s not Fiona
Sullivan. She knows exactly who she is. At least she thinks she knows – until
Brody Mason relentlessly pursues her and she begins to have feelings for him.
Maybe being Fiona isn’t so bad?
Reality becomes blurred, secrets are
revealed, and life will never be the same when the final questions are
answered: Is she Francesca or Fiona? And where does she really belong?
Losing Francesca is a YA/NA crossover
contemporary romance. :)

No one knows how Calista is destined to change the kingdoms, but there is one that does. He not only craves Calista’s power, but her body as well, and his goal is to steal her power, make her his Dark Queen, and take over the Land of the Fae.
Will the evil succeed in claiming Calista’s soul? Or will the two men that fight for her heart save her from despair, and help her fulfill her destiny to become what she was meant to be.
Two Seattle 16-year-olds, Jatred and Jasmira, are not your typical star-crossed lovers. They are not even your typical Shape Shifters. Sure, they try to live an ordinary life. At least, as ordinary as the Prince and the Princess of the rivaling ancient Races--the Winter wolves and the Summer leopards--can live. But eventually they learn that not much about their existence can be normal. Especially when the Races' two commanding Goddesses are involved.
One of the Goddesses is on a quest to tilt the scale of power to her side. The other will never let it happen, even if it means kicking Jatred and Jasmira's love to the curb. Nothing is off limits, including removing Jatred's memories of Jasmira.
To complicate things even more, there are the Universe's powers to consider. They are trapped in an ancient Amulet in order to protect the stability of the world. But the Universe has a mind of its own, and when the powers are unleashed, the forces of nature are disturbed; earthquakes, tsunamis, and volcanic eruptions shake the Earth. All Shifters of both Races are summoned by their respective Goddesses to fight in the name of, or against, the normalcy of the world.
Find out how the Amulet and the Dasht-e Kavir have been created, and how the powers of the Universe opened the gates to other dimensions, inadvertently releasing unworldly supernatural creatures into the Human World.

Cover Love - May Edition
Yay! Time for one of my favourite posts of the month... COVER LOVE :)
I have some very cool covers lined up for you this month. Hopefully you can add some excellent new books to your reading lists.
The first few covers are designed by Mae I Design. Regina is such an amazing designer. I am so impressed by her work that I've actually invited her to YAlicious for an interview. She will be appearing in June to tell us about her process and highlight some of her favourite covers.
And now - for some of my favourite covers this month...
One by Mari Arden. This cover captured me immediately. The girl's face is stunning and I love her intense expression. The blurb for this book sounds fantastic and I added it to my reading list immediately.
Maverick by Anna Cruise. Who doesn't like books about hot surfers! This book sounds so intriguing. The guy on the cover is gorgeous, but to be honest, my favourite aspect is actually the wicked font and colour of the title.
Broken Wings by Cameo Renae. This cover is so stunning. The colours, the women on the front...the feathers. It all works so beautifully.
Losing Francesca by J. A. Huss. I highlighted this book recently as part of J. A. Huss' cover reveal, but I wanted to highlight it again. There is something so haunting about the girl's eyes. The premise for this book is really cool as well. It's going to be a great read :)
The Edge of Darkness by Melissa Andrea. Isn't this cover stunning? It's the shadows of the birds that do it for me. I love it.
Breathe Me by Alexia Purdy. I can't wait for this book to come out. The cover captured me immediately and then when I read the book description, I got super excited. It's going to be awesome :)
So - have any of these covers captured you?
Which one do you like best?

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
J. A. Huss likes to write new adult books that make you think and keep you guessing. Her favorite genre to read is space opera, but since practically no one reads those books, she writes new adult science fiction, paranormal romance, contemporary romance, urban fantasy, and books about Junco (who refuses to be saddled with a label).
She has an undergraduate degree in horses, (yes, really–Thank you, Colorado State University) and a master’s degree in forensic toxicology from the University of Florida. She used to have a job driving around Colorado doing pretty much nothing but shooting the breeze with farmers, but now she just writes, runs the New Adult Addiction and Clean Teen Reads Book Blogs, and runs an online science classroom for homeschoolers.
