FEVER COVER REVEAL!!

I know. TWO cover reveals in one week! How cool is that!

Working with a new designer is always such a treat. Although I am completely in love with the work my normal designer (Dwell, Design & Press) does for me, I wanted to work with someone new for this project. Because this is my first NA series, I wanted a really fresh look to help differentiate it from my other stuff.

So I contacted Regina Wamba from Mae I Design and she agreed to help me out with these Songbird novels. Squeee!!!

I am very, VERY excited to reveal the cover to you today. It captures the heart of the story beautifully and I can't wait for you guys to be introduced to this Songbird world.

Release Date: June 15th, 2014
Genre: NA Contemporary Romance
Designer: Mae I Design

Singing in the shower takes on a whole new meaning in Melissa Pearl's first Contemporary Romance.

Ella Simmons does not want to move across the country. But she is, because her boyfriend has persuaded her to join him at UChicago to finish out her college education. Never able to tell him no, she hops on a plane and makes the trek from LA expecting to adjust to life like she's often forced to, but things are not that simple when she hears a luscious voice singing over her shower wall. His deep, sexy tenor makes her weak in the knees, spreading fire through her limbs and making her question everything about her life and relationship.

Can one voice really have that much of an impact?

Cole Reynolds is on his way out. In his final year at UChicao, the only thing he wants to do is finish school and get on with his life. But the sweet voice that interrupts his morning shower turns his world upside down. Compelled to find his shower songbird, he begins a search across campus. The only thing to distract him from this goal is his roommate's gorgeous girlfriend who's just arrived from LA - Ella Simmons.

Relationships are put to the ultimate test as future dreams are questioned and friendships are thrown on the line for love.

COVER LOVE - featuring Mae I Design

A few authors I know have used this talented lady for their covers and every time they do a reveal I am blown away by how beautiful the covers are.

So I thought I'd get in touch with Regina Wamba and see if she'd like to visit YAlicious and tell us a little about her awesome work.

Welcome to YAlicious, Regina. It is so incredibly cool to have you here :)

1. When did you discover your passion for photography and graphic design?
Oddly enough. I've always been an artist. Started taking pictures in high school, did friends, seniors, and weddings through college, and then in 2009 I re-discovered my love for reading and kind of fell into cover design which is now a whole new creative venture. :D

2. What is your favourite part of the process?
Designing. I love taking a flat image and adding in the effects, and making a story come to life. :D

3. What types of questions do you ask authors when you are designing a cover for them?
What kind of story is it? Anything special I need to know about? Do you need a wrap or just e-cover? Do you have a vision?

4. Do you have a weakness for certain types of images, fonts or colours on your covers?
I have a weakness for color. I love color. I am a very NEON kind of person. haha. BUT I only use colors on a cover that will convey a certain message to the right audience. :D

5. Could you share one or two of your favourite covers - the ones you are most proud of and tell us why you love them so much.
Well, The Coincidence of Callie and Kayden is a favorite for a whole list of reasons.
1. The photography is my own.
2. My brother is featured (Kayden).
3. I got a one sentence line from Jessica about the book. "there is a kissing scene in the rain" is what I got. :D
4. The passion on the cover is realistic and classy. I love that you FEEL that PULL of love, and desperation from the cover. :D
5. I love that it is got a small grunge appeal to it. This helps convey that it has a very realistic story line. Talks about some very deep things.
6. It will be available in like 12 different countries, and on the shelves in August. Which I am extremely proud of. :D

It's hard to  pick a second, as this one happens to be the closest to my heart. :D

6. Who are some graphic designers you look up to?
Well, not necessary a graphic designer.. but Bob Ross was a huge inspiration growing up! I could watch him for hours. :D

7. Who are some of your favourite authors to read?
Love Brynn Meyers, JR Ward, Cassandra Clare, JK Rowling, Lauren Kate, Cambria Hebert, Charlain Harris, John Corwin, Libba Bray

8. What do you like to do in your spare time?
Spend time with family (three kids and a hubby) and friends. Love to travel, take pictures, draw, paint, and learn (oddly enough, I crave learning)

9. Where is your favourite place to work?
When it's warm, outside. :D

10. What are your favourite types of pictures to take? (Faces, nature, sunsets - that kind of thing) :)
People. LOVE people, their story, their emotions, it's just personal. :D

Cover Love - May Edition

Yay! Time for one of my favourite posts of the month... COVER LOVE :)

I have some very cool covers lined up for you this month. Hopefully you can add some excellent new books to your reading lists.

The first few covers are designed by Mae I Design. Regina is such an amazing designer. I am so impressed by her work that I've actually invited her to YAlicious for an interview. She will be appearing in June to tell us about her process and highlight some of her favourite covers.

And now - for some of my favourite covers this month...

One by Mari Arden. This cover captured me immediately. The girl's face is stunning and I love her intense expression. The blurb for this book sounds fantastic and I added it to my reading list immediately.

Maverick by Anna Cruise. Who doesn't like books about hot surfers! This book sounds so intriguing. The guy on the cover is gorgeous, but to be honest, my favourite aspect is actually the wicked font and colour of the title.

Broken Wings by Cameo Renae. This cover is so stunning. The colours, the women on the front...the feathers. It all works so beautifully.

Losing Francesca by J. A. Huss. I highlighted this book recently as part of J. A. Huss' cover reveal, but I wanted to highlight it again. There is something so haunting about the girl's eyes. The premise for this book is really cool as well. It's going to be a great read :)

The Edge of Darkness by Melissa Andrea. Isn't this cover stunning? It's the shadows of the birds that do it for me. I love it.

Breathe Me by Alexia Purdy. I can't wait for this book to come out. The cover captured me immediately and then when I read the book description, I got super excited. It's going to be awesome :)

So - have any of these covers captured you?
Which one do you like best?
