I was hoping to do a book review today, but things keep getting in the way of me finishing my book. I am not great at reading multiple books at a time and when my proof copy of Pure Blood arrived, I had to set aside 13 on Halloween so I could do a final read through and get the last book of my trilogy ready for paperback release on May 1st.
Are you the type of person that can read more than one book?
What type of books attract you the most?
I get bored with just one genre, so I like to jump around. I am reading a ton of YA at the moment, which I love the most, but every now and then I like to pull out an adult book.
I really do like a wide range - everything from chick lit to action/thriller, my only criteria is a little romance.
How about you? What's your criteria?
Whatever you're reading at the moment, I hope it's a great book and you're managing to get lost in a world of drama, humour, magic, mystery, romance or all of the above :)
I've don't read more than one book at a time, unless you count the occasional non-fiction book while I'm reading fiction too. (like a book on writing). I've been reading mostly YA lately, with a sprinkle of this or that. I like everything you listed above too, with the addition of historical fiction, which I didn't realize until I made a list of my favorite books and found several in that category.
ReplyDeleteI'm currently reading Forget You by Jennifer Echols.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who reads one at a time :)
DeleteI love historical fiction too!
I sometimes read more than one at a time, but it usually gets too confusing for me. I'll wonder what happened to one character, and then realize he/she is from another novel.
ReplyDeleteRight now I'm reading Cannibal Island by Cornell Deville. It's a steampunk action/adventure and it's getting rather creepy as they're searching for a treasure and there are these weird, cannibal creatures guarding the treasure. I am really enjoying it.
Oooo - Cannibal Island sounds super creepy! I must try reading a Steampunk. I have been meaning to for ages, but haven't gotten around to it yet. Other books keep jumping in my path :)
DeleteI'm always reading a handful of books at a time. xD More often than not it just depends on what I have with me. Kindle, phone (and whether or not I have access to wi-fi to sync between the two), actual BOOK, and whether or not I also have an audio book going. It's just easier for me to be reading a bunch at once and since I read in multiple genres it's easy to keep the story lines separate.
ReplyDeleteAt the moment...I'm reading the Elemental Assassin series by Jennifer Estep (Urban fantasy), Roni Loren's debut Crash Into You, and the Lost Dogs, I can't remember the author. I'm supposed to be starting Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater today since it finally got returned to the library.
Really, as long as it has some romantic elements in it, I'm game. xD
It sounds like we have similar tastes, Valerie. A lot of the books you are reading are on my TBR list :)
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to hearing what you think of Shiver.
I've been told nothing but good things on it so I'm hopeful. Especially since I loved her Scorpio Races!
DeleteI actually just finished Golden Blood a few weeks ago...really liked it and have been meaning to get a review up! Then I read the second book in the Percy Jackson series...very fun! Now I'm reading Evermore by Alyson Noel. Nice easy read for relaxing during the exam period.
ReplyDeleteThanks Meghan :) I'm so glad you enjoyed Golden Blood.
DeleteEvermore - I have that on my reading list :)
